Just over three miles to the southeast of Salisbury lies the pretty village of Alderbury. Alderbury itself has a village shop for all your everyday essentials, plus two pubs, a village hall and a primary school. The River Avon flows nearby, meaning peaceful riverside walks aplenty.

Downton
Straddling the River Avon about six miles south of Salisbury is the flourishing and highly regarded village of Downton. Dinton
Head west from Salisbury and you might be lucky enough to happen upon delightful little Dinton, about eight miles away. If you like to embrace the quiet life and enjoy the outdoors, Dinton could be the village for you. As well as pretty cottages, a quaint village shop, church and pub, it also has Dinton Park, managed by the National Trust, right next door.
Dinton property is more affordable than some of the other villages surrounding Salisbury, with an average price of £355,250 over the past year.
Broad Chalke
Not far from Dinton, nestled in the glorious Chalke Valley around eight miles to the south-west of Salisbury, lies Broad Chalke. This little village is chocolate-box pretty, with the cute River Ebble meandering through the middle.
